when white plays C in answer to the first problem why is it not an option for black to pincer? if white escapes does the black stone not find life on the side?

b can’t pincer, w will get into the corner. b would lose too much territory and b’s corner will be a floating group.
i would say D too, but maybe is there some kind of trick ^^
